We very much hope you and your families have stayed safe and well through this extraordinary and challenging period.
We are delighted that the time has finally come to reopen the doors and welcome our wonderful customers back to The George. We are very carefully following guidance from the Government and Public Health England to ensure we operate safely. Our customers and our team can be confident in our commitment to keeping you all safe and well at The George. Our new operational practices will be continuously monitored and updated in accordance with the evolving guidelines. Every member of our team will be trained in the new health and hygiene procedures. Staff health will be monitored, with temperatures taken daily before shifts start. Staff showing any symptoms will be required to stay at home and PPE will be provided where appropriate.
We are extremely fortunate with our beautiful water’s edge garden restaurant – fresh sea air and plenty of space for appropriate distancing. Service times will be extended, and guests are required to make a reservation in advance to secure a suitable table for their group.
Deep cleaning at The George is well under way and there will be a significant increase to the daily cleaning routines throughout the hotel with increased disinfection to high touch points. Our housekeeping team will not enter your room throughout your stay and our team will discuss hygiene measures with you on your arrival. Room service will be available at no extra cost.
Reception and arrivals will be a little different to avoid any congestion in the hall. Payments will be made by card where possible, with cash by arrangement only. No hand shaking or hugs for the time being, although you will be assured of a very warm ‘George’ welcome. We are also operating a 48 hour cancellation policy.
