We’ll be re-opening The George on Wednesday 2nd December from 11am. Our reservations team will be back in the building from the 2nd too. In line with the Government guidelines we have shut the doors until early December. We have contacted everyone who had reservations with us throughout November to re-book or refund. We can’t wait to welcome you back when the time is right – until then, stay safe and well!

Dear Friends of The George,
Firstly, I would like say a huge thank you for the ongoing support we have received throughout this extraordinary and challenging time. For now, we are delighted to be back and returning to some kind of normality. The weather has been very kind and our water’s edge Italian themed garden has been full each day. It has been a pleasure to watch groups of friends and family reunite and enjoy their celebrations in the sunshine.
Our priority is to keep you all safe and well so we are continuing to follow the guidance from the Government and Public Health England to ensure we operate safely whilst providing a pleasurable and relaxed environment.
This week we’ve introduced thermal cameras at both entrances. These will monitor guest, staff and visitor’s temperatures. They are unobtrusive, effective and will help us maintain a safe and clean setting for you to enjoy.
We continue to frequently disinfect surfaces, ensure increased hand washing regimes are applied, monitor hand sanitiser stations and the wearing PPE where appropriate.
Since we’ve returned our hotel bedrooms have been busy. They are deep cleaned between guests stays. Soft furnishing are treated with virucidal disinfectant mist and all surfaces cleaned and disinfected. Pillows and mattress protectors are rotated and we will not enter or service your bedroom unless requested. Room service is available at no extra cost – guests are asked to liaise with reception on arrival for individual room requirements.
Reception and arrivals continue to be a little different to avoid any congestion in the hall. Payments will be made by card where possible, with cash by arrangement only. No hand shaking or hugs for the time being, although you will be assured of a very warm ‘George’ welcome. We are also operating a flexible cancellation policy.
We will keep you updated as changes arise but do assure you of our continued commitment to keeping you all safe and well.
